Reigate and Banstead Borough Council

The Pavilion

Following consultation with the local community, the project sought to provide a new pavilion building, enhanced landscaping and provision of new sports and play facilities.

The regeneration also coincided with the centenary of World War One, which is where the park’s name, Memorial Park, originates.  The project was completed in six months and aimed to minimise the disruption to the local community.

A notable feature of this project was the photovoltaic array which significantly contributes to the power requirements of the building.  The addition of the multi-use games area, tennis courts, children’s play area and ‘trim trail’ put an emphasis on sport within this urban park.

The oak framed pavilion, landscaping and recreational facilities now offer a compelling reason to visit the park and will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for many years to come.
